I am privileged to have a full time practice that enables me to focus on you as an individual. By having a streamlined office and a single physician attending to all aspects of your psychiatric care, the energy of the practice is devoted to taking care of you, the patient. By purposefully keeping my practice a certain size, I am typically able to offer new patients an appointment within one to two weeks and follow up appointments within one to two clinic days. My being independent from any particular group practice or large healthcare system allows me to refer my patients to whomever I believe will serve them best if a referral is needed for additional types care. My practice is driven by helping patients get better.
Degan J. Dansereau, M.D. is a psychiatrist practicing in his native home of the New Orleans, Louisiana.
Dr. Dansereau attended Tulane University where he majored in psychology and graduated with honors. He then completed medical school at LSU-New Orleans. He continued his training with a Psychiatry Residency at Tulane University where he served as Chief Resident in Psychiatry.
Dr. Dansereau is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a member of the Louisiana Psychiatric Medical Association and the Louisiana State Medical Society.
Dr. Dansereau is Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology. He currently maintains a private practice that focuses on providing personal, caring and expert treatment of psychiatric illnesses. Dr. Dansereau has been serving the psychiatric needs of his native city for over twenty years. He sees adults and adolescents above the age of 14.
